No matter what you drive, vehicle organization is extremely important. Depending on what model you drive, for example, Jeep storage may not lend itself to an organized space. Pickup trucks can hold a lot but may be tricky to keep organized. However, with a solid strategy, the right equipment and a little elbow grease, you can keep your vehicle tidy. Here are a few organizational tips:
Get under-seat organizers
Regardless of the size of your vehicle, you can probably always use a little extra storage space. Because of this, it’s a good idea to use up all the space you have available. While you may have lost some change or a pen under your seat, you probably don’t get a lot of use out of that space. Pick up an under-seat organizer - it’s a great way to store items that you don’t need to access every day but want to keep in your car.
Use a tailgate enclosure
If you’re going on a road trip or simply need to keep a lot of stuff in the trunk of your Jeep Wrangler, you may find yourself playing a huge game of Tetris – shoving boxes and suitcases wherever they fit and crossing your fingers that they stay put and, just as importantly, that you’ll be able to find what you need later. Look into getting a tailgate enclosure instead. It will provide you with extra storage space and a weight-bearing lid that allows you to neatly stack your things for easy access later.
Organize your console
Avoid carelessly tossing things into your center console – you’ll just have to dig it out later from the other junk. Go through the console and get rid of anything that you don’t need, then start getting organized. Purchase a console organizer, which will help you keep all of your belongings tidy and easily accessible. There are even some products that lock shut for extra security. If your car or truck doesn’t have a center console, you can buy one and install it yourself.
Clean up the back seat
If you have kids or other passengers in your back seat frequently, you may find yourself with a pretty messy vehicle. Give all of that stuff a place to go with a back seat organizer. You can find organizers that simply insert into the cup holders in the back seat and you’ve suddenly got a new place to keep all of the small items that have been floating around your car.
Upgrade your glove box
Despite what their name may suggest, glove boxes tend to be the place that we keep the most important items and documents in our car. From insurance information to personal protection, it’s important that your glove box is not only well-organized, but secure, as well. Consider replacing the flimsy factory-issued compartment with an upgraded one to keep everything safe.
Sort out your truck bed
If you drive a pickup truck, you may be familiar with the sound of your stuff rattling around the bed. There are a few options for truck bed storage. Invest in a good truck bed box – this can be installed right behind the cab of your truck and helps keep your important items under lock and key without taking up valuable space inside the truck.
For your tools and other items you need to access, consider getting a truck bed slide. This tray system will not only keep everything well-organized, but it slides out of the bed of your truck for easy access, preventing you from having to crawl into the truck to get your stuff.
